Case Study: Catalogue Design

Client: Espresso Media International

Project: catalogue design and content updating for Mipcom 2024

Espresso Media International is a documentary and factual entertainment distributor – and the company at which I started my documentary career. After designing their current brand identity and materials in-house in 2021, I was more commissioned as a freelancer to design and update their Latest Releases Catalogue for Mipcom 2024.

My task was to update their previous catalogue edition by removing older titles, restructuring genre categories, and adding new acquisitions. This included creating a spotlight section at the front of the catalogue for latest additions, as well as what I call a ‘tetris’ game of fitting in all the catalogue’s required titles into dynamic double-page spreads, organised by theme.

I also created new key art, and adapted existing key art, for particular titles to suit the catalogue spreads; and adapted pre-prepared synopses for word lengths whilst retaining key USPs.
